Job Description

Are you passionate about making a difference in the world of public finance? Do you have a strong background in tax administration and a desire to work with a global team to improve revenue management?

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Governance Specialist to join our team at the World Bank Group. As a key member of our Global Governance Unit, you will play a critical role in leading analytical work for the Global Tax Administration Program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent the World Bank in international fora and establish collaborative relationships with donors and other international development actors.
  • Apply your experience and expertise to WBG projects and analytics as assigned, including providing expertise to project teams and client countries.
  • Cultivate strategic relationships with constituent groups of the Prosperity Vertical and GGP units, CMUs, client countries, and development partners for business development.
  • Co-lead the development of capacity building curricula for Tax Administration Forums and other global and regional events.
  • Provide technical inputs to analytic works and reports, in close collaboration with relevant TTLs and sector experts within and outside the Bank.

Requirements:

  • An advanced degree in economics, public policy, political science, or a relevant discipline, with relevant hands-on experience in the revenue administration system of a country.
  • Comprehensive understanding of public finance policies, strategies, institutions, governance, and regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal, communications, and writing skills, with excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Strong planning, writing, communication, and data analytics skills to carry out research and analytical tasks on a wide range of issues.
