Head of Strategic Partnerships and Commercial Development

The energy sector is undergoing a transformative period, driven by an unprecedented rate of change. At Octopus Energy, we're positioning ourselves at the forefront of this change, aiming to be the leading global provider of solutions that enable customers to unlock £30bn of value per annum from distributed energy resources (DERs).
We're building a Software as a Service (SaaS) subscription business with a global addressable market of £2.4 billion per annum, by digitally connecting hundreds of thousands of DERs with energy markets.
As a key member of our team, you'll play a crucial role in driving our mission to drive the global renewable energy revolution. You'll help us develop and evolve our partnership strategy, supporting partner outreach across global markets and low-carbon technology types.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and evolve our partnership strategy, supporting partner outreach and negotiations.
- Lead on commercial and legal negotiations with prospective partners, putting in place commercial partnership agreements.
- Facilitate early engagement between Kraken technical teams and partners, surfacing implementation concerns and driving standardisation in approach.
- Provide commercial insights and input into the integrations product roadmap, joining regular cross-team ceremonies and providing input on the partnerships pipeline.
- Effectively articulate commercial decisions to internal product and integrations teams.
Requirements
- Excellent relationship-building skills, both internally and externally.
- Commercial experience working with external partners and clients.
- Able to travel to visit international partners.
- Ideal experience in the software and energy sector.
