We are currently recruiting for 2 HGV Mechanics (Nights) to join our transport division at head office located at our Heywood facility.

Working hours will be 1800 to 0600 on a 4 on 4 off static night shift pattern averaging 40.25 hours per week with 30 minutes for lunch paying an hourly pay rate of £17.98 and additional weekly allowance of £40 irregular shift allowance and £44 night shift allowance per week.

The Role

In this role, you will be responsible for completing varied tasks, including:

  • Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs
  • Maintaining, repairing, and servicing units and trailers to MOT standards
  • Ensuring vehicle cleaning requirements are up to standard before MOT service
  • Repairing defects
  • Performing general basic garage duties
  • Dealing with breakdowns nationwide

Requirements

We are looking for individuals with experience in maintenance and MOT on HGVS, a Class 1 licence is desirable, demonstrated knowledge of electrical instrumentation and safety compliance, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, and excellent organisational skills, including the ability to multi-task and prioritise workload.
