Job Description

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Care and Education Coordinator to join our team in Belfast. As a residential care provider, we deliver a high-quality service to young people with learning disabilities, and we are looking for someone who shares our commitment to excellence. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working with children with complex needs, and will be able to provide robust and effective support in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing quality care and support to children with learning disabilities, including assisting with supervision, educational work, and leisure activities. They will also be expected to promote personal care duties where required, and contribute to reviews, staff meetings, and individual programmes of care. In addition, they will need to have a strong understanding of child-centered approaches and Positive Behaviour Support models, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Key responsibilities include: Providing robust and effective responses to disclosures and concerns of abuse, adhering to SBNI core policies and procedures; Delivering a high-quality service that meets organisational and professional standards; Assisting with supervision, educational work, and leisure activities; Promoting personal care duties in cases of disability where required; Contributing to reviews, staff meetings, and individual programmes of care. To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a strong understanding of child-centered approaches and Positive Behaviour Support models. You should also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments. A minimum of 2 years' experience in similar roles working with young people with learning disabilities is essential. Furthermore, you must be flexible to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, nights, and days, as per rota requirements.
