Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our team. As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining a range of machinery, working closely with the yard manager and yard operatives to ensure that all machines are in excellent operating condition.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Repair and maintain a range of machinery, including fabrication of new parts and equipment.
  2. Work closely with the yard manager and yard operatives to ensure that all machines are in excellent operating condition.
  3. Attend occasional breakdowns at customers' premises across the UK.
  4. Perform general welding and fabricating tasks.
  5. Operate forklift trucks and complete load breakdowns.

Requirements

  • At least three years' experience in an engineering role.
  • Good problem-solving skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work within a time scale or to a deadline.
  • Perform planned maintenance tasks and support production teams during production runs.
  • Systematic problem-solving for repetitive issues/faults.
  • Undertake a range of electrical and mechanical planned maintenance and repair activities to maximize the reliability of site machinery and equipment.
  • Maintain all plant and equipment to comply with all current legislation, HS&E, group standards.
  • Ensure compliance to preventative maintenance routines for all site equipment.
  • Carry out installation work, including modifying existing equipment and installation of new equipment.
  • Inspect completed installations and maintenance repair work to ensure conformance with required operational and legislative standards.
  • General welding and fabricating skills.
