About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Psychologist to join our Adult Neurodevelopmental Service team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality support and assistance to our clinical team, working closely with Consultant Clinical Psychologists and other multidisciplinary specialists.

The post holder will be responsible for undertaking observations and case note reviews, supporting the clinical work of the team, and contributing to service objectives to meet national targets and ongoing service development. They will also participate in research and audit within the service, link in with third sector organisations, and undertake professional development appropriate to the role.

Requirements

The post-holder must have at least an Upper Second Class Honours degree in Psychology and be eligible for the Graduate Basis for Chartership of the British Psychological Society (GBC). They must also hold a driving licence and have access to transport, and have a high level of computer skills and knowledge of programmes and statistical packages.

Experience of relevant paid/voluntary work is essential, and additional postgraduate training/qualification in human services, particularly relating to work in mental health services, is desirable. Experience working with people with mental health needs, involvement in clinical research, and experience of using statistical packages in a work setting are also highly valued.

Working Arrangements

This is a fixed-term post for 12 months, and the working pattern will be Monday to Friday, 9:00-5:00. The post-holder will be based in Kirklands, Bothwell.
