About the Role:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our team at Aspris Children's Services. As a key member of our support team, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and tidy environment throughout the school, ensuring that all areas meet operational standards and statutory regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and maintain the cleanliness of all school areas, including classrooms, common areas, and facilities.
  • Identify and report any damage, faults, or other related issues to the maintenance department or manager.
  • Ensure that all work processes comply with statutory regulations and operational standards.
  • Work collaboratively with the staff team to deliver a high-quality service.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a similar role, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.

About Aspris:

Aspris Children's Services is a specialist school for young people aged 7 to 19 who have autistic spectrum disorders (ASD). Our tailored approach means we are able to support young people with a wide range of needs, from those who are broadly average in their ability to others who have more severe learning difficulties.

We provide a total environment where young people are offered safe, secure, and predictable surroundings in which they can come to understand their own areas of difficulties and learn skills and techniques in order to overcome them. This ensures that they are able to fulfill their potential socially, academically, physically, and spiritually and enable them to rebuild their low self-esteem and self-belief.

The school is located in a beautiful, quiet, rural location in Somerset in a Georgian manor house, which has a range of outbuildings and extensive grounds. The successful candidate will have experience of the following characteristics:

Communication: During your role, your working environment may involve interacting with our young people we support who may display varying degrees of emotional behavioral difficulties, autism, ADHD, and associated difficulties.

Organization: As well as supervising the staff team, you'll need to be confident and organized in record keeping, ensuring issues are logged on the internal computer systems and keeping up to date with routine maintenance checks.

Attentive: No two jobs will be the same, so being attentive to understand them and identify areas where we can support is important.
