We are seeking a skilled Heavy Goods Vehicle Maintenance Technician to join our Engineering Team at FedEx. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining the safety and reliability of our vehicle fleet by performing service and maintenance tasks in line with planned schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on Heavy Goods Vehicles to ensure they are safe, legal, and fit for purpose.
- Complete service and inspection records, defect reports, and associated paperwork to comply with legal requirements.
- Prepare vehicles for annual MOT testing to a high standard to ensure a first-time pass.
- Investigate and rectify vehicle defects, ensuring the correct and effective use of tools, plant, and equipment.
- Maintain good housekeeping standards and carry out any other duties deemed reasonable by Management.
Requirements:
- Fully skilled with applicable Licenses / Vocational Training (e.g., LGV C&E licence (class one)).
- City & Guilds parts 1 & 2 or equivalent in commercial vehicle repairs.
- Knowledge of the use and operation of all automotive equipment and testing / troubleshooting equipment.
- Ability to lift and manoeuvre Heavy Vehicle Components.
- Experience with welding and basic D.C. electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Valid driving license.
- Previous experience within a similar role.
