Job Title: Commercial Advisor

At Babcock International Group, we're working to create a safe and secure world, together. As a Commercial Advisor, you'll play a key role in supporting contract management activities to ensure the financial and commercial interests of the Company are optimised.

The Role

As a Commercial Advisor, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will be supporting the achievement of financial targets and ensuring that contractual obligations and associated risks are adequately dealt with. You'll assist with Contract and Change Management across all phases of the acquisition cycle, including:

  • Attending Risk Reduction meetings; maintaining change management registers; liaising with Procurement to ensure consistency on terms and conditions flow down and risk mitigation.
  • Assisting with approvals through internal governance as required within delegated authority limits.
  • Reviewing terms and conditions in accordance with Babcock policies.
  • Monitoring and interpreting weekly and monthly project reports with the customer, ensuring all actions are carried out as appropriate and matters are recorded.
  • Leading on low-complexity Contracts or Framework Agreements; internal and customer relationship management; conducting work in accordance with Babcock principles and behaviours.

This role is full time and is a hybrid role with a mixture of working from home and working onsite at Ashton Vale.

Essential Experience

  • Experience in a commercial role within a company which is a prime contractor in a regulated environment such as defence, power, oil and gas, utilities, nuclear, construction.
  • Experience of change management, subcontract management and management of contracts from contract award to contract closeout or bidding experience is highly desirable.
  • Commercially astute with an understanding of the procurement process.
  • Good communication, presentation, networking, and negotiation skills.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to identify commercial risks, propose steps to mitigate, and communicate effectively.
  • Professional, positive and supportive approach to both suppliers and customers.

Qualifications

  • Minimum A Level qualification.

Security Clearance

  • The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
