Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced ASN Assistant to join our team at Argyll Bute Council. As an ASN Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with Additional Support Needs (ASN) in a primary school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to children with ASN, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, other support staff, and parents to develop and implement personalized learning plans.
  • Assist with lesson planning, preparation, and delivery, ensuring that children with ASN receive the support they need to access the curriculum.
  • Monitor and record children's progress, identifying areas of strength and weakness, and making recommendations for future support.
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting social skills, emotional well-being, and self-esteem.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working with children with ASN/ADHD.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including term-time only, and be willing to participate in training and professional development opportunities.
  • Knowledge of child development, learning theories, and strategies for supporting children with ASN.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
