We are seeking a highly motivated Fire Damper Inspection Engineer to join our team at Nationwide Fire Damper Inspections, a leading specialist in fire damper surveys, inspections, and testing. Based in Wakefield, this full-time role offers an excellent opportunity to progress your career with a well-established company.

The successful candidate will be part of a small team that travels to various sites to inspect and report on the condition of fire dampers in buildings of all types, predominantly in the hospitality and healthcare sectors. The equipment tested forms a vital part of the building's fire strategy and must be inspected annually.

This position requires working independently as part of a small team, with flexibility needed due to overnight stays required at customer sites. Full NVQ-level training will be provided on inspecting dampers and surrounding areas, as well as software used for compiling reports. All necessary tools and PPE will be provided, along with a mobile phone for business purposes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections of fire dampers in various locations
  • Report findings accurately and professionally
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure efficient site visits
  • Maintain high standards of quality and attention to detail

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in HVAC or ductwork systems is desirable but not essential
  • A mechanical background is preferred, but candidates with transferable skills will be considered
  • A clean driving license and ability to work away from home occasionally
  • A DBS check will be mandatory
