About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Technician to join our team in Glasgow, supporting the manufacturing process and testing of multiple military-based products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform optical alignment and construction of optical subassemblies
  • Utilize complex optical bonding techniques with a mixture of optical adhesives
  • Conduct optical handling and cleaning
  • Analyze optical components using interferometers and other tools
  • Calibrate optical subassemblies and tooling
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams
About You
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of general physics
  • Exhibit good practical and experimental skills
  • Show inquisitiveness and ability to question results and provide answers
  • Be self-motivated and capable of working alone and within teams
  • Display good written and oral communication skills for effective communication with peers and technical and non-technical customers
Desirable Skills
  • Knowledge of optical instruments
  • Understanding of interferometry
  • Knowledge of mechanical engineering
  • Experience with opto-mechanical components and manufacture
  • Optical handling and cleaning
  • Optical bonding
