SSEMHA Assistant - KS1/KS2 Education Opportunity

We are looking for a dedicated teaching assistant to join our team and provide support to students with SEMH needs in our Abingdon location. The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting children and young people with special educational needs, preferably in a KS1/KS2 setting.

About the Job:
  • The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to provide support to students aged 4-11 years old.
  • This role involves working with SEN students who require regular visits and sessions to cope with learning difficulties and mental illness.
  • You will be required to assist in planning and preparing resources for lessons and developing your child-related experience portfolio by gaining insight into KS1/KS2 education.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Provide individualized support to students with SEMH needs.
  2. Work as part of a team to implement behavior management strategies.
  3. Assist in planning and preparing resources for lessons.
  4. Support students with personal care where necessary.
Key Requirements:
  1. A Level 2 or Level 3 childcare qualification or proven experience in an EYFS or KS1/KS2 setting.
  2. A caring individual with energy, drive, and enthusiasm.
  3. Ability to work as part of a team, alongside teaching and support staff.
  4. Passion to support children and young people with special educational needs.
Important Details:
  • Estimated salary: £21,992 - £23,500 per annum (based on £417.50 - £450 per week).
  • Full-time position, 8:30am to 3:15pm, Monday to Friday.
