Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Climate Policy Strategist to join our team at Green Alliance.

About the Role

This is a senior role that will report directly to the Strategy and Partnerships Director. You will work closely with other members of the senior management team, heads of teams, and the wider staff to develop and deliver high-quality strategies to secure impact in the environmental and health policy intersection.

You will be responsible for maintaining Green Alliance's reputation as a respected thought leader on climate and nature issues. This will involve leading and supporting the development and delivery of strategies, advising colleagues on narratives and framings, and using your networks to help us land our work with impact.

Main Responsibilities
  • To design research plans that ensure we are considering the distributional impacts of our policy recommendations on different parts of society.
  • To manage projects, delegate tasks, and develop staff who are part of the project team.
  • To understand our philanthropic and business partnerships and develop a plan to increase and diversify them in ways that support our organisational goals and projects.
  • To secure funding to undertake collaborations with relevant organisations to undertake innovative projects.
Requirements

This is a senior role that requires a strong track record in policy, public affairs, or campaigns. You will have a keen interest in, and ideally experience of, thinking about how climate and nature policy intersect.

You will also need excellent writing skills, project management skills, and experience of people management. Additionally, you should have experience of managing projects that create impact, sociological research methodologies, and developing high-quality communications outputs.

Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
