Job Title: Advanced Oncology Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Advanced Oncology Nurse Practitioner to join our team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Acute Oncology Service, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work autonomously as an advanced practitioner within acute oncology, providing expert clinical care and advice to patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary clinics, ward rounds, patient reviews, and multidisciplinary team meetings to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Undertake a variety of clinical skills and provide treatment/advice as per the acute oncology guidelines and scope of practice.
  • Lead in the development and updating of referral guidelines and policies for the service, ensuring evidence-based practice and best outcomes for patients.
  • Manage and escalate medical emergencies appropriately, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and timely patient care.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years post-registration experience at a senior level (Band 7 or above) in cancer or acute care.
  • Experience in service development and implementation of change, with a proven track record of improving patient outcomes.
  • Advanced physical assessment skills, non-medical prescribing, and acute clinical practice expertise.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
