Master Craftsman

Job Summary:

We are currently recruiting for a skilled Hardwood Machinist to join our team at Princess Yachts in Plymouth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce component parts to drawings, cutting lists, or computerised programs.
• Manufacture basic components from semi-automatic woodworking machines and/or detailed press machines (RF & Vacuum Press).
• Selection of materials, manufacture parts to correct standard, machine materials to information in drawings or cutting lists, and minor program changes as required.
• Responsibility for finished products as well as work in progress.
• Seek authorisation for decisions made.
• Accessing programs for machines.
• Ammend/re-write programs as necessary for new components.
• Setting up machines prior to use.
• Cutting material to size using a variety of machines.
• Shaping, bending, folding, drilling components.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in the form of an NVQ or City and Guilds, or 12 months experience within a Wood Machinist environment.
• Post-employment up to 6 months training to reach desired quality standard.
• CNC programming experience.
• Experience in the use of a varied range of hand tools/machines including computer controls.
