Job Overview

This NHS role seeks a highly skilled medical professional to join the department of Neuroanaesthesia and Neurocritical Care at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (NHNN). The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a team of 28 consultants and 39 trainees, providing exceptional patient care in a dynamic and supportive environment.

The postholder will manage patient care within all areas of the neurocritical care unit, working across the acute admissions and ongoing level 3 units, the level 2 high dependency unit, as well as providing senior support to the critical care outreach team. They will provide on-call cover on a 1:9 basis, as well as a component of daytime weekend working providing support to the on-call consultant.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage patient care in the neurocritical care unit, including acute admissions and ongoing level 3 units
  • Provide on-call cover on a 1:9 basis
  • Support the critical care outreach team
  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care
Requirements
  • FMC registration with licence to practice at the date of interview
  • CCT or equivalent in Intensive Care Medicine or Anaesthesia
  • FICM/EDIC certification
  • Experience in intensive care medicine, neuroanaesthesia, and neurocritical care
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
