As a Water Quality Scientist at Thames Water, you will be responsible for assessing water quality risk at network depots to deliver regulatory obligations associated with Drinking Water Safety Plans.

Key Tasks
  • Complete regulatory risk assessments for network depots in line with Drinking Water Safety Plan (DWSP) obligations.
  • Update DWSPs on the company's bespoke IT system to meet regulatory requirements and internal programmes.
  • Develop expertise in water quality aspects of distribution water quality, as well as regulatory requirements relating to DWSPs.
  • Participate in the Water Quality Risk Review process to validate existing DWSP risks and identify emerging ones.
  • Ensure regulatory obligations can be met through routine system management activities for DWSP IT.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in a relevant scientific discipline.
  • Experience in the water industry in a relevant role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders.
  • Competence in using Microsoft Office software and preferably experience using company systems.
  • A proactive, can-do attitude and the ability to manage workloads.
