The Opportunity
We are seeking an Associate Engineer / Engineering Coordinator to join our Facilities Engineering team at Abbott's Diabetes Care Division. As a result of strong business growth and industry-leading product development in the biosensor business, we have an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to contribute to the timely and effective scheduling of maintenance activities and provision of general support activities.
Responsible for managing the Maximo maintenance management system, you will work closely with the Facilities Project Engineers and wider Facilities teams to engage and collaborate with the Facilities team to provide a seamless service to our wider business. You will look to improve the usage of Maximo across the scope of the system, thus supporting improvements in efficiency, consistency and accuracy across engineering operations.
About You:
To be successful, you will need to have completed a recognised Engineering apprenticeship or have a higher education qualification (such as a HNC, HND or degree) in a related subject. Previous experience in a manufacturing or facilities environment is preferred but not essential. Experience of a Maximo system (or similar) is advantageous but not essential as training will be provided.
Continuous Improvement is an important part of our site's culture, so you will also have the opportunity to propose or contribute to initiatives and projects that improve our operations. You will also need to be able to demonstrate a track record of accomplishing your objectives, working proactively, and managing your own time effectively.
What we offer:
This is a fantastic opportunity to become a valued member of our highly skilled Engineering team working at the forefront of bio wearable technology. Abbott offers a benefits platform that provides security to you and your family. As you'd expect from an innovative global health care company, we offer a competitive range of benefits including excellent salaries, a class-leading defined contribution pension scheme, private healthcare, life assurance, subsidized canteen and a flexible benefits scheme.
About our Diabetes Care Division:
World Leader in Glucose Monitoring, the Abbott's Diabetes Care business designs, develops and manufactures glucose monitoring systems for use in both home and hospital settings.
