Glass Grinder/Machinist Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and versatile individual to join our team as a Glass Grinder/Machinist. The successful candidate will have experience working in a production or manufacturing environment and be eager to learn new skills.
The role involves carrying out glass preparation, including grinding and polishing using machines and hand tools. As the individual develops their skills and knowledge, the role will expand to include assembly, cutting (by hand and machine), stock control, lathe work, machine minding, and wiring.
To excel in this position, the ideal candidate will possess good attention to detail, be hands-on, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience is required, and training will be provided to help the individual develop their skills.
Key responsibilities of the role include working on your feet for extended periods, with frequent hand exposure to water. Therefore, individuals with skin conditions or sensitivities may not be suited for this position. Additionally, some lifting will be involved.
Working hours will initially consist of Monday to Thursday from 8am to 4:45pm, with an additional Friday shift from 8am to 11:45am once trained. This temporary position offers the opportunity to secure a permanent contract after a trial period.
Estimated annual salary: £35,000 - £40,000 based on industry standards and location.
