Field Engineer Position

As a leading provider of engineering consultancy services, Vulcain Engineering Group is seeking a skilled Electrical Field Engineer to join our team in the South West of England. This is an exciting opportunity to make a valuable contribution to the mega-infrastructure, Nuclear New Build project at Hinkley Point C (HPC).

The Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all works are constructed in accordance with the contract. This includes verifying that the Works are constructed in accordance with the contract and notifying the Construction Superintendent of non-conformance request requirements. Additionally, the candidate will submit details of any non-conformance request requirements to assist in the issuing of non-conformance reports.

Responsibilities and Duties
  1. Ensure that all works are constructed in accordance with the contract.
  2. Notify the Construction Superintendent of non-conformance request requirements.
  3. Submit details of any non-conformance request requirements to assist in the issuing of non-conformance reports.
  4. Proactively communicate with other site teams, maintain good communication links, and ensure surveillance is timely reported.
  5. Contribute surveillance information to support KPI indicators.
  6. Identify potential Quality issues before they arise to enable mitigating actions.
  7. Support team instructions to take temporary measures to mitigate and keep works safe and within Quality standards.
  8. Take appropriate and proportionate action (e.g., issue communications, call meetings) to prevent the halt of works.
  9. Enhance the team with a good perspective of current and future site activities.
Requirements and Qualifications

A minimum of HND in Electrical/Civil/Mechanical Engineering qualification or equivalent vocational training and experience.

Experience in the installation and erection of large Civil Works.

Experience in Post Tensioning and grout injection.
