Opportunity for a Clinical Director in Rural Healthcare

NHS Highland is seeking an experienced GP to join our team as a Clinical Director. This is an exciting opportunity to develop a portfolio career and influence the development of community services across North Highland.

The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team responsible for a dedicated portfolio of work, including leading the clinical governance portfolio supporting the community and primary care division. They will also have the opportunity to develop relationships with local GPs and work closely with the senior leadership team on service developments.

Key responsibilities will include designing and strengthening clinical governance systems, developing high-quality medical practice, and contributing to the integration of clinical pathways, integrated Health & Social Care teams, community hospitals, and Primary Care networks.

The role offers a unique opportunity to combine clinical work with leadership and development responsibilities, and to make a real difference in the lives of patients and communities in rural Scotland.

Requirements:

  • Experience as a GP with a strong track record of leadership and clinical governance
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote and rural environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Full, current driving licence
