Assistant Accountant Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Assistant Accountant to join our specialist team in Blackpool. This role offers a comprehensive study support package and is well suited to those who are currently studying a professional qualification (AAT, ACCA).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a portfolio of clients and ensure compliance deadlines are met.
  • Review and prepare accounts, VAT returns, corporation tax returns, and other compliance work for filing at Companies House and HMRC.
  • Provide bookkeeping services for clients using Xero, Free Agent, and QuickBooks.
  • Train junior members of the team and deal with client communications.
  • Ensure clients are invoiced correctly and registered for relevant taxes with HMRC.
  • Process payroll for clients and maintain accurate Companies House records.
Candidate Specification:
  • Working towards a professional qualification in accounting.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality work and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong organisational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with clients and colleagues.
