Trailer Repairer / Bodybuilder Job Description

At Kemp Recruitment, we are seeking a skilled Trailer Repairer / Bodybuilder to join our team at a leading commercial vehicle and trailer specialist's bodyshop repair centre in Atherton. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to work with a dynamic, multi-site company dedicated to excellence in vehicle repair and refurbishment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform high-quality welding and fabrication on commercial vehicles and trailers.
  • Ensure all repairs and fabrications adhere to depot procedures and industry standards.
  • Carry out repairs and maintenance on a variety of commercial trailers, including welding, fabrication, and structural repairs.
  • Perform bodywork repairs, including panel replacement, fitting new components, and repairing damaged parts.
  • Assist in trailer rebuilds, ensuring structural integrity and safety.
  • Accurately complete job sheets and maintain detailed records.
  • Participate in preventative maintenance to prolong the lifespan of vehicles and trailers.

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Proven experience as a Trailer Repairer / Bodybuilder gained within a commercial bodyshop.
  • Experienced with Steel, Aluminium, Wood and Fibreglass.
  • Strong welding and fabrication skills (MIG/TIG).
  • Strong understanding of welding techniques and materials used in trailer fabrication.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Must have your own hand tools – drills, rivet guns, sockets and spanners.
  • Full UK driving license (HGV license is an advantage but not essential).
