Job Summary

Northamptonshire Healthcare Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team in Older Adult's Liaison Psychiatry. The successful candidate will be based at Northampton General Hospital and will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.

Main Responsibilities

The post holder will be expected to:

  • Provide clinical leadership and expertise in Older Adult's Liaison Psychiatry
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care
  • Develop and implement new services and initiatives to improve patient outcomes
  • Contribute to the development of our research and innovation portfolio
  • Provide education and training to junior doctors and other healthcare professionals

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • MRCPsych or equivalent qualification
  • Full GMC registration
  • Management skills
  • Basic computer skills

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Publications in the field of psychiatry
  • Management training

  • Ability to relate well to elderly patients, carers and relatives
  • Team player skills
  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the broader perspective of the service within the NHS
  • Experience of training psychiatric core trainees and multidisciplinary staff
