About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Paediatric Physiotherapist to join our team at The Portland Hospital, a leading private children's hospital in the UK. As a specialist in paediatric physiotherapy, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of presentations in babies and children, including developmental assessments, follow-up assessments for premature babies, and common musculoskeletal presentations.

Main Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive outpatient assessments of paediatric patients, using expert clinical reasoning and observation skills to provide an accurate physiotherapy diagnosis and understanding of their condition.
  • Formulate and implement individual physiotherapy treatment programmes based on specialist knowledge of evidence-based practice and treatment options.
  • Evaluate patient progress, reassess, and progress or alter patient treatment programmes within the appropriate timeframes.
  • Provide physiotherapy intervention where there may be barriers to understanding, such as foreign language or due to speech/hearing/visual impairment, cognitive/perceptual difficulties.
  • Provide clinical support to more junior members of staff and across other areas of the hospital, including Orthopaedic surgery, SDR, and acute-developmental caseload.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and concise treatment records detailing the individual patient's treatment plan and progress.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive discharge reports and recommendations in conjunction with other multidisciplinary team members where appropriate.
  • Work flexibly to the needs of the service and participate in the out-of-hours weekend and standby service as required.
