The Burford Recruitment Company is seeking a skilled and passionate Private Estate Gardener to join our client's team. This is a unique opportunity to work in a beautiful country estate, maintaining and enhancing the gardens and grounds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regular maintenance of gardens, plants, and formal areas to ensure they are well-manicured and healthy.
- Selecting and planting seasonal flowers, trees, and shrubs, and ensuring proper care and maintenance throughout the year.
- Efficiently managing irrigation systems and implementing eco-friendly methods to manage pests and diseases.
- Pruning trees and shrubs to maintain shape, health, and aesthetic appeal.
- Monitoring soil conditions and implementing fertilization and soil improvement techniques.
- Conducting seasonal cleanup activities, such as leaf removal, mulching, and preparing the garden for winter.
- Overseeing greenhouse operations, including propagation, temperature control, and maintenance of plants.
- Planting, maintaining, and harvesting fruits, vegetables, and herbs in the kitchen garden to provide fresh produce for the household.
- Collaborating with other estate staff and contractors to coordinate activities and maintain overall estate aesthetics.
Requirements:
- A passion for horticulture and excellent attention to detail.
- Hands-on experience, physical fitness, and ability to work in all weather conditions.
- A Horticultural Qualification, Spray Certificates PA1/PA6, and a Chainsaw Certificate are desirable.
- Own transport is required due to the rural location.
