Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Social Worker to join our Family Team at the Highland Council. As a Social Worker, you will play a critical role in supporting vulnerable children and families in our community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality social work services to children and families, including assessment, planning, and intervention.
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals, including healthcare providers, education staff, and community organizations, to ensure comprehensive support for families.
  • Develop and implement effective plans to address the needs of children and families, including providing support for parents and caregivers.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of children's needs, including identifying risks and developing strategies to mitigate them.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to children and families, including crisis intervention and counseling.

Requirements

  • Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council on the 'Social Worker' part of the Register.
  • Qualification recognized by the SSSC as being equivalent to the Diploma in Social Work (DipSW).
  • Ability to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Highland.
