COTS Applications Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled COTS Applications Support Specialist to join our team at Arqiva. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical and functional leadership within our organization, sharing knowledge and skills, and providing mentoring support to peer teams and business users.
Key Responsibilities
Input to solution designs based on functional and non-functional specifications, engaging with analysts, testers, and architects.
Provide input to the design process and application solution architecture to support continuous improvement.
Review and approve designs to ensure compliance with Arqiva policies, standards, and existing complex bespoke customizations, integrations, and configurations.
Develop, test, document, and implement functional/technical solutions to fulfill growing business requirements following ITIL processes.
As a Subject Matter Expert, provide technical and functional leadership within Arqiva, sharing knowledge and skills, and providing mentoring support to peer teams and business users.
Identify and resolve compatibility and performance issues across a fully integrated set of independent systems.
Provide on-call, out-of-hours support for critical 24x7 applications and services.
Provide third-line operational support and maintenance for existing and new applications, liaising with business users to understand, analyze, and resolve identified operational issues within agreed service levels. Liaising with 3rd parties/vendors as required.
Support audit enquiries and provide supporting data in compliance with regulatory and professional standards bodies.
Manage and audit access controls at application level.
Liaise with business users to resolve operational data anomalies, build scripts to provide data extracts, and support ad-hoc bulk update processes.
Support patching and upgrade deliverables in line with vendor, architectural, and security guidelines. Liaise with platform owners to support contractual compliance with vendor roadmap.
Manage/maintain archiving solutions of critical legacy systems to fulfill contractual or legislative requirements.
Requirements
Degree (preferable) or higher-level apprenticeship in computing/electronics/communication systems.
Or significant industry experience in one or more of the required expertise/technical/professional skills areas.
Knowledge and experience in software development.
Knowledge and experience in applications 3rd line support.
Knowledge and experience of ITIL service management practices.
Working knowledge of Linux and/or Windows Server Management, and code version-control (preferably using SVN or Git).
Some experience with CI/CD process and tooling, e.g. Concourse, or similar actions in GitHub/Gitlab.
