Job Summary:

The Building Support Assistant will provide technical support for the maintenance and repair of engineering plant and equipment at Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Undertake planned maintenance and reactive repairs on engineering plant and equipment, working from training programmes, work procedures, and operational manuals.
  • Carry out ductwork cleaning, filter changing, lamp and tube replacement, and other tasks as required.
  • Work in high-risk areas, ensuring all safety measures are implemented to prevent danger, injury, and equipment damage.
  • Provide cover for Building Support Assistant shift cover and holidays as required.
  • Undertake Authorised Person, Skilled Person, and Competent Person roles and responsibilities for disciplines as required.

Requirements:

  • Recognised industry training (NVQ's - technical task specific) and health and safety awareness/certification.
  • Experience of working within a building services maintenance environment.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • IT skills.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines in a demanding environment.
