Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Manchester. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all costs related to building engineering projects, from initial calculations to final figures, to minimize costs and enhance value for money, while ensuring required standards and quality are maintained.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the operational team in commercial processes to ensure achievement of turnover and profit targets, profitable contracts, and sound cash flow performance
  • Manage risk to improve cost predictability
  • Ensure all work at every stage of a project is completed on time, within budget, and to the correct standard
  • Maximize project margin and add value to the construction process by proactive involvement in procurement, cost management, and reporting
  • Drive best value from suppliers and subcontractors
  • Drive SPIE Commercial Process within the team
Requirements:
  • Educated to HND or Degree level in quantity or building surveying or a construction-related subject
  • Demonstrable commercial experience
  • Mechanical & Electrical quantity surveying experience in a building services background
  • Experience in administering industry standard forms of contract, in particular NEC and JCT
  • Commercially astute, numerate, risk averse, and able to accurately forecast cost and sales
  • Multi-tasking, self-motivated, energetic team player with a flexible and adaptable approach to work
  • IT Literacy and ability to use Microsoft Office
  • System experience – CPA, Coins, or similar
  • Ability to demonstrate successful relationship building between company, clients, and subcontractors in engineering construction industry
  • Sound understanding of the implications of Health and Safety regulations
