About the Job

We are seeking a seasoned M&E Project Design Manager to oversee the mechanical and electrical design aspects of our construction projects. This role involves coordinating with architects, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure M&E design meets project requirements.

Job Description:
  • The successful candidate will lead the M&E design process from concept to completion.
  • This includes collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure M&E design meets project needs.
  • The role requires managing M&E design schedules and delivering design packages on time.
  • Additionally, the candidate will conduct M&E design reviews and provide technical guidance to the project team.
  • They must maintain adherence to relevant regulations and standards.
  • Another key responsibility is working closely with the project management team to align M&E design objectives with project goals.
  • The selected candidate will also oversee preparation of M&E design documentation and reports.
  • Fostering communication between M&E design teams and construction teams is essential.
  • Lastly, they must scope and agree on M&E consultant appointments.
  • The estimated salary for this role is £70,000 - £90,000 per annum.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in M&E design management within the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of M&E construction processes and project management principles.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Lived within a 45-minute drive of the Faslane/Coulport site.
  • Willingness to undergo full Security Clearance process.
  • No option for remote working; presence on-site is mandatory.

  • Proven experience in procurement and contract management for M&E components.
  • Proven experience of managing professional M&E consultants.
  • Thorough understanding of the M&E design development process, including BIM.
  • Working knowledge of Building Regulations and codes of practice related to M&E.
  • Proven experience of forging strong working relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Word/Excel.
  • Excellent planning and programming skills.
