About the Role
The Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Centre at Queens University is seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to join its team. This exciting opportunity offers a unique chance to apply your specialist knowledge and experience of design automation in the development of new methods and processes.

In this role, you will be responsible for applying your expertise in design automation to develop innovative research outputs with direct economic and technical benefits to companies and sectors. You will work collaboratively with your team, industry partners, national technology centres, and academia on a collaborative research programme called Re-Imagining Engineering Design (RIED).

This project focuses on smart design automation, including automated scripts and standard operating procedures for the automation of design tasks. As a key member of the team, you will contribute to the development of these technologies and ensure their successful implementation.

We are looking for a candidate with an undergraduate degree or equivalent in computing, engineering, or a related discipline, along with significant relevant industrial experience. Alternatively, a minimum HND in a related discipline with extensive recent and relevant industrial experience may also be considered.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop new methods and processes using design automation
  • Work collaboratively with the team on the Re-Imagining Engineering Design (RIED) programme
  • Contribute to the development of automated scripts and standard operating procedures

Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent in computing, engineering, or a related discipline
  • Significant relevant industrial experience
  • Experience in design technology and CAD/FE analysis solutions
  • Ability to work in multifaceted environments and deliver results under deadlines
