Highway Infrastructure Project Manager

About the Role
Skanska, a leading project development and construction group, seeks a seasoned Construction Director to drive the operational delivery of a major highways project in Kent. As a member of the Infrastructure team, you will be responsible for ensuring the project is completed safely, within budget, and to the required quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to the construction team, prioritizing uncompromising Health, Safety, and Wellbeing while promoting a progressive approach to reducing carbon emissions.
- Lead the construction team in delivering the project in line with established key objectives and outcomes, offering governance, support, and challenge as needed.
- As a member of the Strategic Leadership Team, influence and champion the collaborative strategy, Vision, Values, and Behaviours of the integrated project team.
- Define the construction team's organization, roles, responsibilities, and accountability, ensuring each team member understands their role in the project's successful delivery.
- Support the detailed design phase, ensuring an efficient and buildable design is produced, and facilitating innovation to address potential technical issues.
- Coordinate, standardize, and ensure consistency across sections to deliver the best outcomes for the project.
- Lead change by promoting continual inclusivity, improvement, and best practice within the team.
- Manage supply chain arrangements and subcontracts effectively, setting clear targets for the construction team to measure performance and drive continuous improvement.
- Foster an inclusive culture to maximize the effectiveness of a diverse team, nurturing and developing future talent.
