Job Description

A Software Development Engineer with strong analytical and problem-solving skills is needed to participate in the full development cycle for mission-critical systems. You will work with cutting-edge technologies and tools on innovative and sophisticated features, collaborate with your team, and drive key engineering and business decisions that enhance Amazon's security posture.

You will contribute to all parts of the software development and deployment lifecycle, including design, implementation, documentation, testing, and operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will document what your team's software does, how it is constructed, tested, and operated, and how secure it is.
  • Your work will focus on delivering software features and improvements to major portions of your team's software.
  • You will design software solutions to enable new features or improve software, requiring guidance from leadership to ensure alignment with your team's long-term architectural strategy.
  • You will work on difficult problems with visible risks or roadblocks, bringing clarity to problems and identifying simple designs for solutions.
  • You will be a significant contributor to the full software development lifecycle, including scoping, design, code, testing, deployment, and maintenance of your team's software.
  • You will be active in the code review process, providing meaningful feedback to others, including those who are more senior.
  • Your work will positively impact software quality, customer experience, and maintainability of your team's product(s).

Benefits

We offer competitive salaries ranging from £70,000 to £110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications, with additional benefits and bonuses based on individual and team performance.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • Professional experience in software development, including designing or architecting new and existing systems.
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
  • Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience with authorization management systems, cloud security, or related fields is desirable but not required.
