We are seeking an Academic Mentor to work in our Lindamood-Bell Learning Centre in London. As an Academic Mentor, you will be responsible for providing one-to-one and small group instruction to students of all ages, implementing specific lesson plans under the direction of Learning Centre leadership.

Tutor Position Details:

  • Prior teaching experience is not required, but preferred.
  • This is a fixed-term position.
  • Instruction is performed at our Lindamood-Bell Learning Centre in London.
  • This position is not remote.
  • We provide paid training in the Lindamood-Bell programmes.
  • All necessary technical equipment and programme materials will be provided.
  • Internship credits may be available.
  • We offer paid time off, paid holidays, annual leave, sick leave, and closure hours.

Tutor Schedule Details:

  • This position requires availability from Monday to Friday.
  • Learning Centre hours of operation are 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM.
  • Expected schedule is subject to change based on the scheduling needs of the Learning Centre.
  • Required hours during the paid training are generally 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday, for two weeks.

Tutor Expectations:

  • Have a passion for helping others reach their potential.
  • Implement positive reinforcement strategies that maximise learning cheerfully and authentically.
  • Possess excellent reading, spelling, and comprehension skills.
  • Possess basic computer skills.
  • Record notes about student performance while leading engaging sessions.
  • An Associate's degree, Early Childhood Education certificate, Bachelor's degree, or actively pursuing a degree is required.

Tutor Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group instruction, in-person or online, implementing specific lesson plans under the direction of Learning Centre leadership.
  • Facilitate the use of the curriculum provided for Lindamood-Bell Academy students.
  • Interact positively and professionally with clients and staff to provide a safe and positive learning environment.
  • Manage client records, both handwritten and electronic.

Compensation: The hourly rate for this position is £18 per hour.
