**Job Details**
- Location: Manchester, UK
- Salary: £550-£580 per week (dependent on experience)
- Contract Type: Fixed Term Summer Contract (July 2025 – August 2025)
- Hours: 42 hours per week
**Job Description**
As an English language teacher at our summer school, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective lessons to students of varying levels. You will also contribute to the overall success of the program by participating in team meetings, completing administrative tasks, and maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment.
You will have the opportunity to work with students from diverse backgrounds, share your passion for teaching, and develop your skills as an educator. **Key Responsibilities**
- Plan and deliver language-focused lessons that meet the needs of students
- Teach 30 hours a week + 12 hours of activities/excursions/pastoral duties
- Work 6 days a week (Monday – Sunday)
- Follow our football-themed syllabus
- Complete weekly planners, attendance sheets, and student reports
- Be observed and receive feedback
- Work collaboratively as part of the academic team and support the summer team
- Attend and participate in academic meetings and INSETT sessions
- Assist with placement testing
- Attend induction held at the centre
- Remain professional at all times
- Comply with our uniform policy and centre rules and regulations
**Child Protection & Safeguarding**
- Protect the welfare of children and young persons you are responsible for and come into contact with
- Familiarise yourself with our Young Learners Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy and Centre Safeguarding Policy
- Report any student absence to the Welfare Team and Director of Studies
- Report safeguarding issues if/when they occur
- Complete our Safeguarding Level 1 Online before arriving at the centre
**Qualifications & Experience**
- Celita, Trinity TESOL, or B.Ed. in TEFL/TESOL/PGCE in languages with QTS plus experience teaching ESL students
- Experience working with young learners is desirable
- High level of computer literacy, particularly MS Office, email, and use of databases
- Excellent lesson planning skills
- Adaptability and flexibility
- Ability to work well in a team
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Enthusiasm for summer school life
- Right to work in the EU/UK (depending on the respective centre)
- Enhanced DBS clearance
- An interest in football is desirable/willingness to learn about the sport/club
