About the Role

As a skilled Panel Technician, you will play a crucial part in our team's success at Activate Group Limited. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the safe and economical completion of all body work, including stripping and refitting trim and panel interior, and repairing small dents and minor body work for accident-damaged vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by restoring vehicles to an acceptable standard.
  • Carry out work in a safe and economical manner, utilizing your knowledge and skills to achieve this goal.
  • Recognize and report on vehicle body damage, interpreting and implementing technical instructions as required.
  • Indent for replacement parts and accurately record usage.
  • Repair and panel damaged vehicles to their pre-accident condition, adhering to approved Repair Methodology and manufacturers' standards.
  • Operate specialist body repair equipment, including measuring equipment, body jigs, welding equipment, and smart repair tools.
  • Verify that vehicles comply with safety standards upon return to customers, or report noted faults on the job card.
  • Keep the work area clean and tidy, free from hazards, and liaise with estimating, parts, and line managers to discuss repair processes and completion dates.
  • Achieve manufacturers' and/or estimated repair/paint times, reporting all faults and defects noticed while working on vehicles.
  • Accurately report all components, materials, and consumables used.
  • Protect customers' vehicles with covers and dust sheets, safeguarding contents while being repaired, and ensuring all work meets acceptable safety and quality standards.
  • Meet all company repair/paint times, record all hours, components, materials, and consumables used, and maintain a target set by the manager for material wastage.
  • Prevent damage to or loss of customer vehicles or contents while under repair.

Requirements
  • ATA/NVQ level 3 Panel Technician qualification.
  • Excellent communication and decision-making/problem-solving skills.
  • Good H&S knowledge and awareness, ensuring compliance.
  • Time-served repair technician experience.
  • Good time management skills and relevant industry experience.
