Job Title: Senior Mechanical Design Draughtsperson

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Draughtsperson to join our team at Strongfield. As a key member of our Aerospace Engineering department, you will be responsible for generating engineering drawings from CAD models, producing 3D models, and collaborating with the Production Engineering Department to align design and manufacturing requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Generate engineering drawings from CAD models, ensuring precision and clarity.
  • Produce, modify, and update 3D models, detail, and assembly drawings in line with approved changes.
  • Create designs considering cost, quality, schedule, risk, and human factors.
  • Collaborate with the Production Engineering Department to align design and manufacturing requirements.
  • Apply appropriate GD&T in accordance with standards, and produce tolerance analysis and justification documents.
  • Identify part clashes and process Approved Drawing Revision (ADR) requests using Siemens Teamcenter 11.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Mechanical Engineering Advanced Vocational Qualification (ONC/HNC/NVQ) and Engineering Apprenticeship.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and 2D drawing/draughting.
  • Knowledge of GD&T, BS8888, ASME Y14.5, tolerance analysis, DFM, DFA, and materials and processes.
  • Experience with NX 12, Teamcenter 11, and SAP ERP system is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, decision-making skills, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and collaborative working style.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
