**Job Summary**

Teqniq Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Strategic Planning Officer to join our team in the public sector. This is a 37-hour per week, 5-month contract position with a flexible schedule, including a 1-day office presence per week.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Lead a range of complex planning casework to deliver strategic outcomes for the Council, ensuring alignment with national guidance, planning law, and adopted local plans.
  • Take decisions under the officer scheme of delegation for planning and other related applications, providing clear direction to deliver the Council's strategic priorities and meet financial targets.
  • Support senior colleagues at Area Planning and Strategic Planning Committees, presenting applications for decision and providing professional advice to statutory consultees, other departments, developers, members, and communities.
  • Analyze and evaluate complex technical information to provide expert advice, ensuring high-quality outputs that support the delivery of the Council's objectives.
  • Balance competing demands of other council services and development viability to make recommendations, determine priorities, and negotiate complex S106 agreements, ensuring high-quality development meets adopted planning policy and infrastructure delivery requirements.
