The role involves undertaking mechanical fitting activities, repairs, and inspections on systems and equipment on the waterfront and other sections. Key responsibilities include completing planned preventative maintenance, identifying and rectifying defects, ensuring work is carried out in line with current processes, and adhering to H&S legislation.

This position requires previous experience in a marine/industrial engineering environment and/or mechanical maintenance. You must be comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and in inclement weather conditions. Excellent team working and interpersonal skills are essential.

The successful candidate must possess recognised Mechanical Engineering qualifications, such as an SVQ Level 3 or NVQ/C&G equivalent, or an HNC and above in a Mechanical Engineering discipline with industry experience. Security Clearance is also mandatory for this role.

Babcock offers a competitive salary of £35,000 plus benefits, including a generous holiday allowance, matched contribution pension scheme, employee share scheme, and payment of Professional Fees. Additionally, Reservists in the armed forces receive special paid leave, and there are opportunities for career development and volunteering through our 'Be Kind Day' initiative.
