MIT is seeking a highly skilled Senior Director of Communications to join our team. As a key member of the Dean for Student Life's office, this role will be responsible for crafting and editing correspondence for key stakeholders, including students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement executive-level communications strategies, including letters, emails, video scripts, media statements, and presentations.
- Represent the Dean for Student Life among campus Communications leaders and support requests from the Chancellor's Office.
- Ensure alignment with Institute-level messaging and branding.
- Manage campus emergency communications and develop a comprehensive communications strategy.
- Present the Dean's goals and achievements across various channels, including emails, websites, videos, and social media.
- Manage the Dean's website, support stewardship efforts, and assist with speaking engagements and presentations.
- Build strong relationships with Communications leaders across MIT to collaboratively tell the story of student life.
- Consult with department leaders on Communications initiatives and lead a team of communicators to ensure consistency throughout the division.
Requirements:
REQUIRED: bachelor's degree with at least 7 years of experience; excellent writing, communication, and collaboration skills; expertise in communications strategy, web technology, Microsoft Office, G-Suite, and multitasking in dynamic environments.
This is a hybrid work schedule position, with both remote and on-campus work. Salary range is $140k-$170K, exact offer dependent on experience and equity.
