Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with a range of special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Global Developmental Delay, and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with Senior Learning Support Assistants and Teachers to prepare resources that meet the individual learning objectives of assigned students.
- Provide 1:1 support, under the supervision of the class Teacher, for skills-based learning.
- Track and report on student progress using evidence-based methods, in collaboration with the class Teacher.
- Facilitate student learning by understanding their goals and targets, encouraging the practice of new skills, and promoting independence.
- Provide comprehensive support to ensure the well-being and engagement of students in learning.
- Adhere to Safeguarding policies and procedures to maintain a safe learning environment.
- Minimum GCSE qualifications in English and Maths.
- Previous experience in a similar role within an educational setting is preferred but not required.
- Proactive mindset to take initiative.
- Strong organisational skills to manage tasks efficiently.
- Prioritisation skills to handle multiple responsibilities.
