Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Fabric Engineer/Handyman to join our team at Highcross Shopping Centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing maintenance support, supervising third-party resources, and executing planned maintenance tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To carry out planned and reactive maintenance tasks as instructed by the Contract Manager, including painting, decorating, lock replacements, and office setups.
  • To maintain high engineering standards, ensuring the optimal operation and reliability of plant and associated systems.
  • To coordinate specialist subcontractor requirements for both planned and reactive works.
  • To adhere to company quality assurance and site procedures in all aspects.
  • To ensure compliance with company and site health and safety procedures at all times.
  • To maintain accurate records and documentation related to site works.
  • To inspect services and deal with call-outs and repairs as needed, requested by management.

Requirements

  • A time-served apprenticeship or equivalent experience in one of the building maintenance trades - joinery, plumbing, or painting.
  • The ability to adapt technical skill sets to meet the demands of a busy environment.
  • Competence in the use of computerized systems, such as Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • A good level of administration and organizational skills.
  • Previous experience working within a maintenance team.
  • Demonstrate a sound knowledge of health and safety in the workplace.
