Rate: £80-100 per day

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a prestigious special educational needs (SEN) school in North London. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with complex learning difficulties and challenging behavior, including those with autistic spectrum disorder (ASD).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with and support students with ASD and other complex learning requirements
  • Provide academic support, either one-on-one or in a small group
  • Promote a positive and inclusive classroom culture and provide emotional support when needed
  • Implement behavior management strategies to maintain a positive and safe learning environment
  • Use positive reinforcement techniques to encourage focus and self-control
  • Assist with lesson planning and delivery to help students develop their communication and independence
  • Be aware of safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of students

Requirements:

  • The right to work in the UK
  • A clear and up-to-date DBS
  • Experience working as a Learning Support Assistant
  • Experience working with young people and an understanding of ASD
  • A patient, caring, and resilient attitude
