Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Biomedical Scientist to join our team as a Team Leader in Cellular Pathology. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of Biomedical Scientists and support staff, providing expert technical and scientific advice, and delivering training.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Deputise for and assist the Technical Head of Department to maintain a high-quality service within available resources.
  • Lead a team of Biomedical Scientists and support staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Provide expert technical and scientific advice to colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Deliver training to staff on various topics, including technical and scientific procedures.
  • Ensure the highest scientific standards are maintained and contribute to the improvement of technical and scientific standards within the department.
  • Oversee decisions made on the validity of results and the need for further/repeat tests, as well as the interpretation of results carried out in the department.
  • Ensure that appropriate medical staff are informed of any significant abnormal findings as soon as possible.
  • Assist in the implementation of digital pathology/Vantage and the new lab information system.
