Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Planning Consultant to join our team in the North of England. As a key member of our Planning and Environmental team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our clients' projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and submit planning applications for a range of projects, including infrastructure and development schemes.
  • Develop and implement planning strategies to deliver projects and development proposals.
  • Deliver evidence base studies and site appraisals to support policy development and planning consenting.
  • Draft and review high-quality supporting reports and negotiate planning submissions successfully through the consenting process.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships and collaborate with colleagues to win work and deliver projects.
Requirements:
  • A degree or postgraduate qualification in Town and Country Planning (RTPI accredited) with Chartered membership of RTPI.
  • Detailed relevant experience working in consultancy, a local authority planning team, or similar.
  • A sound, in-depth knowledge of planning law and procedures and sound commercial awareness.
  • Proven experience in managing and delivering multi-disciplinary projects and ability to work alongside and coordinate internal and external technical specialists.
  • Proven experience of building successful relationships with internal and external stakeholders and ability to check and review complex documents.
