At TE Connectivity, we are seeking a skilled Tool Maker to join our team in the manufacture of new tools and the repair/renovation of old tools. As a key member of our Tooling Team, you will be responsible for constructing, modifying, and conditioning metal working dies, as well as fabricating new gages, cutting or forming tools, and fixtures.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Manufacturing new tools, repairing, and renovating old tools
  • Plannings jobs through various stages of manufacture, deciding on the correct machinery and processes to achieve the stated accuracy and quality
  • Operating machines and carrying out all other activities in a safe and responsible manner, maintaining a clean and tidy environment within the department
  • Achieving tasks within the set time to meet departmental targets
  • Ensuring that all tooling-related activities are carried out in accordance with the appropriate company procedures
  • Observing Health and Safety regulations as laid down in company procedures and Government legislation

We are looking for a candidate with good general education, numeracy, and perception skills. The ideal candidate must be capable of manual grinding, turning, milling, and able to read engineering drawings. Initiative in problem-solving and providing solutions to tool manufacturing problems is also essential.

This role may involve working with technical data, technology, software/source code, hardware, or other items (collectively "items") subject to U.S. and non-U.S. export control laws and regulations. If TE determines that a license is required or will be prohibited by applicable laws from providing the candidate with items necessary for the performance of this position, then TE expressly reserves the right to either a) make an offer of employment conditional upon TE receiving required export licenses from the appropriate government agency, b) consider the candidate for an alternative position that is not subject to such restrictions, on whatever terms and conditions TE shall establish in its sole discretion, or c) decline to move forward with the candidate's application.
