Selby, North Yorkshire, United Kingdom Drax Group Full time

About the Role:

As a seasoned professional in health, safety, and environment, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that these standards and responsibilities are understood by all involved within Drax Power Station.

You will draw upon your extensive experience to implement and maintain Drax’s health and safety policies, adhering to best practice codes according to local standards and legislation.

Your expertise in managing HSE projects will also be leveraged in major projects, such as outage shutdowns, guaranteeing required safety and operational standards are met.

You will provide valuable advice and guidance on HSE matters to colleagues and contractor partners.

Strong communication skills are essential for this role, therefore you will be confident in engaging with colleagues, external stakeholders, the senior leadership team, and contractor partners.

This role offers the scope to introduce new innovative approaches to our HSE management system and processes.

Who we're looking for

To excel in this role, you will be an experienced HSE Advisor with a background working within power generation, high hazard, engineering, construction, or manufacturing industries.

In addition, you will need to hold a Level 6 safety qualification, NEBOSH Diploma. If you are a trained auditor, that would be highly beneficial; if not, this is certainly something we can support your development with.

You will also require a strong understanding of Health & Safety management systems, such as ISO45001.

If you have a passion and drive for HSE and have the ability to work autonomously and self-motivate, then this could be the ideal role for you.

Rewards and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary up to £59,000 per annum, as well as:

  • 25 days annual leave (plus Bank Holidays)
  • Single cover private medical insurance
  • Pension scheme

We are committed to making a tangible impact on the climate challenge we all face.
