Cardiologist - Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled cardiologist to join our dynamic team at the North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering secondary cardiology services to a population of approximately 320,000 people in a local urban and rural area. The post involves working as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the development of the department.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical cardiology, with experience in coronary intervention and a commitment to continuing medical education and appraisal.

• Cover for Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PPCI) while on call
• Participate in Cardiac Outreach Work (COW) as per rota
• Perform scheduled clinics
• Teach and educate Central Doctors on ward
• Contribute to Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meetings
• Triage referrals
• Contribute to on-call duties
• Participate in in-reach to Acute Medical Unit (AMU)
• Travel to West Cumberland Hospital to cover wards and patients
• Perform DSE and TOE procedures

• Valid Full Registration with the General Medical Council
• Entry on the General Medical Council (GMC) Specialist Register CCT/CESR
• Membership of the Royal College Physicians or equivalent
• Completion of Accredited UK Coronary Intervention Training Program
• Experience of DSE and TOE procedures
• Higher medical degree

• Excellent communication skills with patients, colleagues, managers, and other staff
• Ability to organize workload efficiently
• Proven track record in undertaking research projects
